MENTAWAI, TELOS FEBRUARY-DECEMBER

The famous Mentawai Islands, located in West Sumatra, offer some of the best waves in the world and have been featured in countless iconic surf films. From the infamous Rifles and Kanduis in the Playgrounds to the perfectly consistent right-hander at Lance’s Right and the mechanical perfection of Macaronis, this region is a surfer’s paradise.

Just north of the Mentawais lie the Telos Islands, offering excellent protection during peak season when the Indian Ocean delivers its biggest swells. The Telos Islands provide a great variety of waves, from fun and playful breaks to hollow, barreling waves for advanced surfers and barrel hunters.

More remote and less crowded than the Mentawai region, where most charter boats operate, the Telos Islands are a hidden gem of natural beauty and incredible surf.

RAJA AMPAT & WEST PAPUA NOVEMBER-MARCH

Raja Ampat archipelago is made up of 1,000 islands boasting a mix of steep hills, jungles, deserted white sandy beaches, hidden Surf breaks, caves, mushroom-shaped outcrops and clear turquoise water.
Some waves are smaller and beginner friendly, others are fast, shallow and suited to performance short-boarding. It’s a stand up paddlers paradise – the best place on Earth.

Average intermediate board riders will have plenty to choose from.
There are numerous long-walled lefts. We’ve even discovered a perfect right-hand barrel which is ideal for perfecting your art of tube-riding. It would be extremely unusual to see another surfer in these parts
